Railway Ballast is a bluestone sharp angular rock of 40-60mm aggregate.
Commonly used as the name suggest as a railway aggregate and in commercial construction as a very coarse drainage material; as a sewer sump screening. It is also used as a modern home garden decorative rock.
Allow at least 50mm depth to give adequate and suffice coverage.
